Sebastiaan Foppema

Chief Executive Officer

Sebastiaan Foppema is the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer for instED. As a strategic leader, he brings 20 years of global experience in technology, healthcare and institutional investments, and a track record of building, transforming and managing teams that deliver business results. He has extensive management experience across business development, sales, operations and professional services.

Prior to instED, Sebastiaan was the Chief Executive Officer of SmartShift Technologies, a leading enterprise software management company, where he grew the business and secured multi-year agreements with Fortune 100 companies, including Airbus, BMW, Proctor & Gamble, Corning, Nestle, and NBC Universal.

Sebastiaan holds a Masters in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and completed the Greater Boston Executive Program at MIT Sloan.

Peter Bachini

Chief Revenue Officer

Peter Bachini is Director and Chief Revenue Officer for instED. He is responsible for Sales, Client Management, Marketing and Growth initiatives. As instED continues to expand, Peter will lead initiatives entering new markets, making instED in-home urgent care solutions available to more providers, members and health plans.

Peter brings to instED more than 20 years of diverse healthcare sales, client management leadership and strategy experience. Most recently, Peter was Principal, Strategic Business Development for Health Plans and Partnerships at Availity, where he developed strategies and worked to strengthen executive relationships with clients and prospects, expanded solution deployments and increased revenue and new growth opportunities. Prior to Availity, Peter held management roles at Oracle, TriZetto and Insurix, and was a sales and client management leader at Healthx and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Peter is a graduate of Bentley University.

Mohsin Khan

Chief Technology Officer

Mohsin Khan is the VP and Chief Product & Technology Officer and leads development of instED’s IT and Platform infrastructure. He is also the Vice President of Client Program Management at Commonwealth Care Alliance and is responsible for client integration of CCA’s care management model.

Mohsin has over 25 years of experience in Partnership Development and Software Product Lifecycle Management. Before CCA, Mohsin spent 12 years at athenahealth, where he built partnerships with the largest U.S. health systems and helped successfully deploy athena’s cloud platform. He also led efforts to build an information backbone to increase interoperability both within and between healthcare entities.

Mohsin holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MBA from Babson College.

Dan Henderson, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Dan Henderson is the Director and Chief Medical Officer for instED. He is responsible for the oversight of instED’s medical service delivery and the instED Virtual Medical Control team. A physician by training, Dan brings a decade of frontline experience working in top-rated US hospitals, as well as over a decade of experience leading quality improvement.

Prior to instED, Dan practiced primary care and hospital medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital, directed the Clinical Process Improvement Leadership Program, and led several initiatives around remote patient monitoring, digital health, and readmission prevention.

Dan earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut and master of public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed residency training at Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian and was a Clinical Innovation Fellow in the Division of General Internal Medicine at MGH.

Chris Malagrida, DNP, FNP-BC

Chief Operating Officer

Chris Malagrida is the Senior Director and Chief Operating Officer for instED. She drives the assessment, design, and end-to-end process improvement of the Care Delivery Network and Clinical Resource Center, and oversees daily operations. She has over 15 years of clinical and operational leadership experience steering complex process and quality improvement efforts that achieve strategic priorities to advance organizations.

Prior roles include the Executive Director of Performance Management in Ambulatory Services at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Chief Operating Officer at North Shore Community Health, a federally qualified health center. She is also a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and former primary care provider.

Chris holds a DNP and MBA from Johns Hopkins University, a BSN and MSN from Columbia University School of Nursing, and a BA in Psychology from Saint Michael’s College.
