instED welcomes Dr. Evan Berg as their new Chief Medical Officer

Boston Massachusetts – instED, the leading in-home urgent care services organization, announces the appointment of Evan Berg M.D. as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Berg is a board-certified emergency physician with over 20 years of clinical leadership experience. As the former Chief of Emergency Medicine at Medically Home, Dr Berg brings an extensive background in mobile integrated healthcare (MIH). At Medically Home he was responsible for developing the ED in Home program that brings vital services and treatment to members with complex health challenges.

Prior to Medically Home, Dr. Berg was the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center and an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine. In his role at BMC, he oversaw all clinical operational processes related to patient care in the adult ED and successfully worked with instED to decrease avoidable hospital admissions by deploying in-home MIH services.

Recently, Dr. Berg co-authored a case study (white paper) that was included in the New England Journal of Medicine, “Emergency Department in Home (EDiH): A Novel Approach to Delivering Acute Care”. This in-depth  analysis supports instED’s innovative in-home urgent care services and overall scope. Most importantly, Dr. Berg loves taking care of patients, collaborating with colleagues, and thinking creatively about complex and challenging healthcare problems.
