instED was founded by a group of clinicians at a health plan seeking to solve a fundamental problem in healthcare that disproportionately impacted the people they served: emergency departments are overwhelmed, people struggle to access care, and there’s a massive gap between “call your doctor” and “go to the ED.” This gap is especially prominent for people with access challenges – those living with disabilities, chronic illness, behavioral health conditions, and social vulnerabilities, and our founders knew there had to be a better way. Not finding the right solution in the market, they built it themselves, and instED was born.
By bringing on-demand, medical care directly to patients’ homes, we improve access, reduce costs, and deliver better outcomes. Since our founding, we’ve served thousands of patients, kept 90% out of the emergency department on the day of their visit, and earned a 4.9-star rating from the people we serve.
